A Day on the Beach
25A Osbourne Esplanade
Kingston 7050, TAS
A Day on the Beach is about pride in being Australian—enjoying sport, summer, the beach and being active. But most importantly, A Day on the Beach is about the community.
The event has grown in popularity over the more than a decade it has been running and typically attracts between 8,000 and 10,000 people to the action-packed day.
As well as being a fantastic day out, ‘A Day on the Beach’ is an opportunity to promote community participation, and encourage people to get involved in local sports clubs and community organisations. There are a variety of activities including an inflatable race, Tug-O-War, Sandcastle Competition, Treasure Hunt and inflatable fun!
The Australia Day swim race is part of the Tasmanian Ocean Swim series but is organised and patrolled by Kingston Beach Surf Life Saving Club. The race is run over a 500m and 1.5km distance.
