The Southern Rockhole is found within the Nitmiluk National Park, about a three and a half hour drive south of Darwin, right near Katherine. While getting to this spot does require a bit of Bush-bashing, the beautiful turquoise waters will be your welcome reward.
It’ll take you about an hour and a half to get to the falls from the Nitmiluk Visitors Information Centre, but there’s a high chance that you’ll have the falls all to yourself when you arrive. It doesn’t get much better than that.
