The event features multiple areas with 100 free activities suitable for toddlers through to adults. New in 2018 are Gutter Racing, Dart Soccer, Crossbow Golf, Giant Tennis, Inflatable Horse Racing, Penny Drop, Giant Memory Games, Labyrinth Boards, Tether Ball Pak, Toddler Sport Zone, Nerf Zone, Octopus Bouncer and Toddler Tyre Park.

Adults can participate and win prizes with the Guess What exhibition (presenting 100 strange objects from the past, for you to identify) and the three Guessing Booths.

In the Art Tent kids can be inspired by what they love about Australia while decorating a kite or a paper umbrella, making a friendship bracelet, creating a beautiful sand art card or making an original fridge magnet.

The Big Top offers onstage entertainment with puppeteers, storytelling and dance.

Roving entertainers and performers will add to the fun atmosphere.


Please be aware that the 2018 Celebration Zone is alcohol and smoke-free.

Event Office: All enquiries and lost and found.

Event Staff: More than 200 friendly volunteers are on hand to help you out.

First Aid: All emergency services are located in the Emergency Compound, east of the Flag Pole.

Lost Children: Constable Care has a Lost Children Shelter inside the Emergency Compound.

ID Bracelets: Kids can put their guardians’ details on a bracelet to have on hand at all times. Pick one up from the Event Office.

Shade: More than 4000m2 shaded picnic and rest areas.

Water: Free drinking water refill stations.

Sunscreen: Free sunscreen available in the Event Office.

Food: A wide range of food vendors.

Rainbow Tractor Trains: Explore the Celebration Zone by taking a ride on one of our Rainbow Tractor Trains. Check the map for designated train stops.


Disability & ACROD Parking

There are three parking areas for people with disability/ACROD permits (see map):

  • Inside the Celebration Zone (off Mill Point Rd opposite Forrest St)
  • Coode St Car Park (end of Coode St)
  • Hurlingham Rd Car Park (end of Hurlingham Rd)

A valid ACROD permit must be displayed to gain access into the access restricted areas.

Bicycle Parking

Bicycle parking is available in the Celebration Zone, opposite Forrest Street (see map). Don’t forget to bring a bike lock.

Free Event Transport Service

To facilitate access to the City of South Perth Celebration Zone, the City will be providing a free shuttle service between the George Burnett Leisure Centre (GBLC: Manning Rd, Cnr Elderfield Rd, Karawara), the City of South Perth Civic Centre (Cnr Sandgate St and South Tce, South Perth) and the event zone.

The shuttle buses will run approximately every 10 minutes back and forth between 2 to 9.30pm, but not during the fireworks (7.30 to 8.30pm).

Both GBLC and the Civic Centre are easily accessible from the Kwinana Freeway and have ample parking facilities.
