Ocean Heroes - Surfing the Spectrum

Ocean Heroes began in 2016.

Set up by WA surfers, Luke Hallam, Sam Moyle and Tom Johnstone, Ocean Heroes is a West Australian based charity that aims to enhance the lives of those living with autism.

How do they do it? Well, they do it through surfing.

Their first event as a charity in May 2016, started with 25 kids and it has continued to grow at a rapid rate. The team have since extended the number of events in Western Australia and have also hosted an event at Sydney’s, Bondi Beach.

Ocean Heroes caters for children on all levels of the spectrum, from low-functioning, high-functioning, verbal and non-verbal. Each child is individually catered for and sessions are conducted in small groups to ensure that each child gets the time and attention they deserve.
All those that help in the surf and on the beach, volunteer their time for the organisation.
