Australia Day - Australia Swims!

Right across Australia, swimmers turned out in droves to take to the water for the celebration of swimming that is Australia Swims. From the Australian Open Water Championship in South Australia to the family fun day at the Swimland Great Australia Day Swim in Brighton beach there was an event to cater for every age and ability.

 

2018 Australian Open Water Swimming Championship

Noosa young gun Nick Sloman took his first major step towards the 2020 Tokyo Olympics winning his first Australian Open 10km marathon Championship while Chelsea Gubecka once again scored top spot for the Women in the 10km event, storming home ahead of her competitors.

Mount Martha Australia Day Swim

The Mt Martha Australia Day (MMAD) swim is one of the feature events on the open water swimming calendar.  The swim is coordinated by the Mount Martha Lifesaving Club and is a safe family friendly day with over 100 water safety personnel supporting swimmers over the day.

Sydney Harbour Splash

The Sydney Harbour Splash is a fun and exciting ocean swimming event for all ages and abilities located in the stunning Rose Bay in the Sydney Harbour. This year the Sydney Harbour Splash added a splash of fluro and teaming up with OneWave, a non-profit surf community tackling mental health issues.

Swimland Great Australia Day Swim Brighton Beach VIC

The Great Australia Day Swim at Brighton is a family friendly celebration on the beach. Run by the Rotary Club of Brighton, it is a major Open Water charity swim supporting disadvantaged children locally through BayCISS Education Support Program and internationally through Swim Vietnam. Proceeds also support the Brighton Life Saving Club.
