The Ocean Pool Challenge is back!
After successfully holding its first Ocean Pool Challenge in 2018, the West Illawarra Aquatic Swim Club will this year run the event on Monday 21 January, to coincide with Australia Swims.
'DJ Louderstein' takes Portsea plunge
Freely admitting he hasn’t “rolled his arms over in while”, Olympic medallist Andrew Lauterstein will jump in the ocean on Saturday to compete in the Portsea Swim Classic.
Commencing from Fisherman’s beach, the 1.5km swim will see participants head west around Police Point along the coast and finish at Jarman Oval at the historic Quarantine Station in the Point Nepean National Park.

Summer is here and to celebrate Swimming Australia is encouraging all Australians to revel in their love of the water and through the Australia Swims campaign pledge their swimming distances to swim a virtual lap around Australia from 19-28 January.
A community united around swimming
Like so many other communities on Australia Day, the Mount Martha Lifesaving Club (MMLSC) brought their community together for a very big swim. The Mount Martha Australia Day (MMAD) Swim has become a tradition on the open water calendar for many swimmers and locals on the Mornington Peninsula.
Sam Sheppard claims his 4th Portsea Swim Classic Win
Australia Swims has kicked off this weekend with major events all over Australia. In Victoria swimmers young and old converged on Portsea for the Portsea Swim Classic. Over 1,500 participants competed in the iconic 1,500m swim with over 20,000 eager spectators cheering them from the beach and surrounding boats.
